THE COMMERCIAL TELEVISION ASSOCIATION IS CELEBRATING ITS 5TH ANNIVERSARY AND IS INTRODUCING A WHOLE RANGE OF NEW FEATURES

This spring marked the fifth anniversary of the founding of the Association of Commercial Television Stations, whose founding members are the Nova, Prima and Óčko television groups. During its time in operation, AKTV has been actively involved in the television industry and legislative processes, and has become a respected stakeholder. To support its marketing activities, it launched the B2B brand and industry website ScreenVoice; to mark its fifth anniversary, AKTV’s visual identity was also refreshed.
The Association of Commercial Television has now completed its first five years of successful operation. At its inception, it set itself two main objectives: to raise awareness regarding support for television as a media format and to play an active role in legislative processes affecting television broadcasters.
Throughout its existence, a whole series of significant industry conferences have been held under the AKTV banner, featuring leading global experts in marketing and advertising. Among the biggest names that AKTV has brought to Prague are undoubtedly Mark Ritson, Les Binet, Karen Nelson-Field and Wiemer Snijders. Following the Covid hiatus, AKTV organised its first conference last year under the auspices of its newly launched B2B brand, ScreenVoice, which aims to encompass the entire world of television, television advertising and total video.
“ScreenVoice now serves as an umbrella for our activities supporting total video and television as an advertising medium. Under the ScreenVoice banner, we will continue to organise exceptional industry conferences, and this year, for the first time, we will carry out our own original qualitative research, which until now we have only been accustomed to seeing carried out by our international colleagues,”
says Jan Vlček, President of AKTV and Chief Executive of TV Nova.
On the ScreenVoice.cz website, readers will find inspiration, trends, research and the latest news on developments in the world of television in the Czech Republic and abroad. Each month is dedicated to a single theme, for which original content is produced. Readers can therefore look forward to magazine-style features on the very first television advert, Christmas or Valentine’s Day advertising specials, or reflections on advertising during the Covid-19 pandemic or the war in Ukraine. The theme of the month is complemented by a calendar of industry events, a glossary of terms from the world of total video, and the popular ‘Myths and Facts about TV’ section, which presents a range of data refuting the most common myths about television. A separate category is the AKTV events archive, where interested readers can find all recordings of speakers’ presentations from the last five years.
AKTV’s visual identity has also been refreshed and now uses the same colour scheme as ScreenVoice. The content of the websites also differs: whilst ScreenVoice is aimed primarily at advertising professionals and those interested in the world of ‘total video’, AKTV focuses on the legislative and regulatory aspects of the television broadcasting industry.
